All purpose COVID-19 newsletter: May 23

Well, here we are, at the end of the ninth week, Dante’s innermost circle, kicking summer off. Many tri-state beaches are open and the wagons are circling our governors for their sins of keeping us safe. Time will tell. I love this image from Italy.

We have such a gorgeous continuum of bloom around here; the tulips turn into azaleas into iris into flowers I don’t recognize.

We found another fantastic place, Local 130 (named for the 130 miles of New Jersey coastline), a wholesale fishery that used to distribute to the still-closed restaurants. But, the fishermen are still catching and, like the farm, they’ve changed tack and now sell direct to us. They deliver to other states, too.

My family is compliant, even when (some) people poke fun at us for being so. Many of our members are in the so-called “do gooder” professions, and my sister Nancy has been making dozens of masks in many sizes for all of us. Thank you!

Music: Graduation!
Did you ever wonder how the “graduation song” became so popular?
(The title comes from a line in Shakespeare’s ”Othello:” “Pride, pomp, and circumstance of glorious war!”)

(The comments section is amusing)
